United Paper Folders are compact and functional, ready to take on a variety of jobs. Here are some important factors to consider when choosing a paper folder.

  • Job Size:

Think about your common folding jobs. If you’re processing 200 or more sheets per job, consider a folder with a large capacity infeed hopper. The large capacity allows you to load more sheets at once and leave the machine running uninterrupted for longer periods of time. F100 is ideal for smaller jobs, with an infeed capacity of up to 200 sheets.

  • Paper Size:

Do you process paper that’s letter-sized (8.5” x 11”), legal (8.5” x 14”),  or ledger (11” x 17”)? Keep this in mind when comparing the sheet capacity of different folders. The F100 handles both letter and legal-sized paper.

  • Fold Types:

Different projects and paper sizes require specific fold types, and having clearly-marked fold plates can make the process easier. The most common fold types are Letter “C”, Accordion “Z”, Half “V” and Double Parallel. It’s easy to change the fold settings on the United F100 using the handy guide right on the machine. Simply choose the fold type for your project, check the guide and adjust the settings on each fold plate accordingly.

  • Paper Weight:

Are your folding jobs printed on 20# paper stock, or do you need the capacity to fold heavier paper? The United F100 Folder can handle paper up to 24# (90gsm).

  • Work Space:

Where will you use the folder? Will you need to move it frequently from place to place? Keep in mind the weight of the folder you choose, especially if portability is a concern.
