Choosing The Right Paper Trimmer

Let’s take a look at some of the differences and strengths between the Rotary Trimmer and the Guillotine Paper Trimmers. When choosing a trimmer, you will need to take a look at what kind of jobs you will be using it for.

1. Number of Pages being Cut

If you consistently need 20+ pages cut, there’s no need to make 20 separate, individual cuts. By making a single cut on all sheets, you save time and labor. Also, you’ll ensure that each piece is cut uniformly and accurately.

Guillotine Trimmers are best suited for larger paper stacks and/or heavier materials. They utilize a carbon steel blade with a handle to give the operator plenty of leverage to cut with. Features also include an automatic paper clamp, blade lock, safety guard, and printed grid guides on a rugged steel base. Guillotine Trimmer blades are self-sharpening which allows for long-term use without the need for replacement.

2. Paper Size to be Trimmed

If you need a cutter with the largest cutting surface, a Rotary Trimmer may be just the right thing. Rotary Trimmers use a self-sharpening circular blade, housed in a rugged, ergonomic cutting head allows safe cutting in both directions. Rotary Trimmers accommodate larger sheet sizes, up to 51” long, and feature printed grid guides. Larger models include a rugged steel stand and fabric catch tray for trimmed scraps.

In conclusion, you can see the importance of taking the time to see which cutter is suited for you and your needs.
